The Science of Laundering Multi-Layer Health-Tech Fabric
Gray Bottle period panties are high-performance health-tech garments. The gusset consists of four distinct engineering layers: a stay-dry honeycomb liner, a high-density absorption core, a breathable waterproof barrier, and a soft outer shell.
Caring for them is surprisingly simple, but following a few foundational golden rules will ensure they maintain maximum absorbency and elasticity for over 100 wash cycles (more than 2 years of monthly cycles).
The 6-Step Easy Care Routine
-
- Quick Cold Water Rinse: After removing your period panties, run cold water through the gusset in the sink or shower until the water runs clear (takes about 30 seconds). Never use hot water, as heat sets blood protein stains.
-
- Machine Wash (Cold / 30°C): Place your rinsed panties into a mesh laundry bag and toss them into the washing machine with your regular dark laundry.
-
- Use Standard Detergent: Any standard liquid or powder laundry detergent works wonderfully. Avoid heavy fragrance bars or harsh industrial stain removers.
-
- NEVER Use Fabric Softeners: Softeners coat the absorbent fibers in water-repellent wax, ruining absorbency. If you need odor neutralization, add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar to the rinse drawer.
-
- NO Chlorine Bleach: Bleach breaks down the waterproof TPU membrane and strips away physical antibacterial benefits.
-
- Hang Dry in the Breeze: Hang your panties inside-out in a well-ventilated shaded space. Natural airflow preserves the integrity of the elastic waistband and leak-lock membrane.
Storage & Rotation Advice
To comfortably navigate a typical 5-to-7 day menstrual cycle without doing laundry daily, we recommend owning a rotation of 3 to 5 pairs:
• 2x High-Absorbency Models (Classic Brief or Far-Infrared Warmth Edition) for heavy Days 1–3 and overnight sleep.
• 2–3x Lightweight Models (Gray Bottle Air or Air Plus) for spotting, lighter Days 4–7, and everyday pelvic comfort.
